The Setting

A stately Greek Revival mansion built in 1833, the Forbes House Museum sits at the crest of a hill with beautiful views of the Boston Harbor and skyline. The 6+ acre property is flanked by groves of trees, with an incredible beech tree in the front yard, and a large open expanse in the back. Plenty of room for a game of croquet during cocktails and a large tent for dinner. The columned south porch and Asian-inspired garden, the "Island of Infinite Pleasantness," afford a more intimate space for gatherings.

Want to soak in more of this venue’s historic charm? You’ll find an exact replica of Lincoln’s log cabin, a 19th century barn, and the original carriage house, all perfect for unique photo backdrops throughout this property that's a National Historic Landmark. Other details around the property include a bronze bell dating to the Qing dynasty, a pair of granite foo dogs, and a recently installed pollinator garden.
