Tourterelle: A Quintessential Vermont Inn, Restaurant and Restored Barn

Nested between the Green and Adirondack Mountains just outside of Middlebury in New Haven, Vermont lives the stunning event venue, Tourterelle.

In 2009, owners Christine and Bill, left their New York City lives behind to breathe new life into this historic property and raise their children in the Vermont countryside. Bill brought extensive experience as a chef to run the kitchen team and Christine, who spent years in hospitality and events, now runs the front-of-the-house and manages all of their events. Together, the couple transformed Tourterelle into an incredible inn, restaurant and event space.

The Space

With various locations to choose from for your ceremony and reception, Tourterelle offers each couple an unforgettable space to host their special day.

Ceremony
Whether you host your ceremony near their pond, fountains and gorgeous willow tree or at the back of the inn’s property looking out to the Adirondack Mountains, you truly cannot go wrong. Looking to host during the colder months? Utilize the renovated barn as your ceremony space to ensure you and your guests are comfortable!

Reception
Enjoy your reception within the rustic wooden barn that has been renovated to include wide-plank flooring, antiqued windows, barn doors and french doors to enjoy the weather during Spring and Summer weddings. Complete with heating and air conditioning, you can enjoy this space comfortably with up to 150 guests no matter the season or weather! Have a larger guest count? Tourterelle offers the option of setting up a tent adjacent to the french doors of the barn to extend the reception space to allow up to 200 guests!

Customizing Your Event

The Tourterelle Team takes pride in their flexibility, making sure that each event is special and allows the couple to showcase their own unique style for their big day.

Owner, Christine, and Wedding Coordinator, Whitney, work with each couple from start to finish- no detail is too small for them! The on-site staff also cover both the set-up and clean-up of each event to ensure that the couple can spend their time enjoying their wedding day.

Cuisine

Last, but certainly not least, is Tourterelle’s cuisine. With Christine growing up the daughter of a chef and spending many years in the hospitality and events industry, and Bill’s extensive chef background, there was no doubt that the food at Tourterelle was going to be noteworthy.

While Tourterelle is most known for their unique fusion of classic French dishes with products from local Vermont farms like Lester Farm, Misty Knolls, Elmer, Tail Feather and Lewis Creek- it doesn’t stop there. Tourterelle's kitchen brings more than just food, it offers an experience- from BBQ off of an outdoor kitchen asado or food from their very own foodtruck, Cafe Tourterelle- there is no doubt that your special day will be one for the books!
